In the first reading that all of us had to read I felt that the point was well backed up. The way that she talked primarily about women and other races of men in the social position. She distinguished that they have always had the lower status and their opinions have never counted as much as white males. She then brought her position into women in schooling systems. I felt that this kept my attention and left me curious to see where she was going next. It bothers me that teachers are trained to provide knowledge to men, because I feel that we are all equal and that few things should change when presenting towards different genders. I strongly agree with her when she talks about us taking our education seriously and knowing what we are really at school for.
The first article in Group 1's reading is very interesting to me. I feel as though the concept is very important to discuss and that it's something to be taken care of. I feel that the idea of having a cultural lesson in schools will help tremendously. I personally also feel that if would be very interesting and I would be willing to learn about it. I think it's important to help us grasp the concept of our lessons and that what our main purpose for learning the material is. I think as many students say that it would be "boring" and "stupid," in the long run they would understand its intention.
